After extensive consultation with the community and other key stakeholders, Lend Lease lodged a comprehensive town planning application for 590 Orrong Road with the Stonnington City Council on 16 September 2011.

This is a well-established statutory planning process which assesses the interests of all parties concerned in an open and transparent forum.

This new residential community will deliver far-reaching benefits including:

• A new public boulevard offering improved and safer pedestrian, bicycle and transport connectivity to Toorak Railway Station and Orrong Road
• Maternal health centre
• More than 30% of the site given to new public open space
• Increased lighting on walk and bike paths for greater safety
• Irrigation of the adjacent parks
• Improved access and interfaces to adjacent parks
• Bike hub
• More visitor and resident car parking
• Best practice in environmental design
• 25% reduction in building height
• Reduction in overshadowing of Toorak Park and Victory Square
• Public art to commemorate Victory Square’s significant history
• Transform the previously Council depot/commercial site to a vibrant new residential community for the people of Armadale.
